Chocolate ZBAR

Clean ingredient chocolate ZBAR dupe
Prep Time 3 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Servings 8 bars

Ingredients

The Bars

  • 2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup dried figs or dates I used figs
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1/4 cup raw honey
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil melted
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup water

The Drizzle

  • 2 tbsp dark chocolate melted
  • 1 tbsp raw honey

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 F degrees and prep a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside for now.
  • In a blender or food processor, add 1 cup of the oats, figs/dates, cacao powder, honey, salt, vanilla, coconut oil, baking soda and water. Blend until smooth.
  • Now, add the other 1 cup of oats and blend again until smooth.
  • Pour the batter onto the prepared parchment paper baking sheet.
  • You'll want to mold the batter into a square, using a spatula - wetting the spatula often to avoid it getting stuck to the batter.
  • Once the rectangle is about 1/3 of an inch, place it into the oven and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool before cutting, here you can mold the corners and round them out to look more like the original Zbars.

Icing:

  • Melt the dark chocolate or sugar free chips and add honey, mix well.
  • I added to a zip lock (cut corner to pipe) or pipping bag to drizzle on top.
