I make lunches daily for us to leave the house in the morning and come back just when it’s time for nap & quiet time. I get to have a work out at the gym, while the girls play with their friends and we have lunch at noon when we’re all done. Making this great quality bread weekly allows me to make their favorite sandwiches every day for lunch! Along with my homemade Jam and great quality cream cheese (or PB if your kids prefer) – makes the perfect lunch on the go! Guilt free!
Milk + Honey Sandwich Bread
Equipment
- Large Mixing Bowl
- Medium Mixing Bowl
- Spatula
- Measuring Cups
- Bread Loaf Pan
Ingredients
- 3½ cups all-purpose flour I use Einkorn All Purpose Flour
- 2 tsp instant Yeast
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1¼ cup warm milk I use raw milk, whole milk would work
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1½ tsp salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl mix flour, yeast and salt. Then in a smaller bowl combine honey, warm milk (no more than 100℉ or it will kill the yeast) and melted butter.
- Combine the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients with a spatula, as the dough will be very sticky. Make sure the flour is fully combined.
- Shape the dough into a ball with the spatula by scraping down the sides and cover with plastic wrap or lid. Let it rise for 1 hour.
- During the first rise grease up a loaf pan, I like to use butter.
- Take the dough out of the bowl, after one hour. Wet your hand so the dough doesn't stick and shape it into a loaf. Place it in your greased up loaf pan and cover it with plastic wrap.
- Let the dough rise for 90 minutes or until one and half the original size.
- Preheat over to 350℉ and bake for 30-35 minutes.

This recipe is simple and delicious. Very easy to follow. Next time I may try with freshly milled flour or sourdough in place of yeast.
Repeat worthy and going in my recipe book.
yay thank you!!!

Absolutely love this recipe! It’s so easy and so yummy. It’s become a staple in our home.
Is the dough supposed to rise much? I’ve tried this recipe twice and it never really rises
