After perfecting my Oatmeal ZBAR Dupe, I’ve had so many requests for a Chocolate version. After lots of experimenting, I think I’ve nailed it! Honestly, these are so delicious—maybe even better than the originals! They’re made with clean ingredients, no refined sugar or unhealthy oils, and they’re way more affordable. Your kiddos are going to love these!
Please let me know below if you make them and how they turned out! Which one do you and your kids prefer? Oatmeal or Chocolate?
Chocolate ZBAR
Clean ingredient chocolate ZBAR dupe
Ingredients
The Bars
- 2 cups old fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup dried figs or dates I used figs
- 2 tbsp cacao powder
- 1/4 cup raw honey
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp coconut oil melted
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup water
The Drizzle
- 2 tbsp dark chocolate melted
- 1 tbsp raw honey
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F degrees and prep a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside for now.
- In a blender or food processor, add 1 cup of the oats, figs/dates, cacao powder, honey, salt, vanilla, coconut oil, baking soda and water. Blend until smooth.
- Now, add the other 1 cup of oats and blend again until smooth.
- Pour the batter onto the prepared parchment paper baking sheet.
- You'll want to mold the batter into a square, using a spatula – wetting the spatula often to avoid it getting stuck to the batter.
- Once the rectangle is about 1/3 of an inch, place it into the oven and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool before cutting, here you can mold the corners and round them out to look more like the original Zbars.
Icing:
- Melt the dark chocolate or sugar free chips and add honey, mix well.
- I added to a zip lock (cut corner to pipe) or pipping bag to drizzle on top.
