never run to the store again, make these in bulk as needed
I cook a pot of chili for lunches and have a taco night, almost weekly at our house. Grabbing the packaged seasonings always made sense, until I took a closer look at the ingredients. The list is long, but what stood out was Corn Starch, Canola Oil/Soybean Oil and Natural Flavors with a side of bioengineer products. I couldn’t believe it.
So I took matters into my own hands and now I make them at home in bulk! I store the large batches of these seasonings in my favorite Mason Jars with a pretty gold lid. The recipes for both of these seasonings are listed below!
Chili Seasoning
- ¾ cup Chili powder
- ¼ cup Ground cumin
- ¼ cup Salt
- 2 tbsp Ground cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp Garlic
- 1 tbsp Ground black pepper
Taco Seasoning
- ½ cup Chili powder
- 3 tbsp Cumin
- 2 tbsp Onion powder
- 2 tbsp Garlic powder
- 1 tbsp Paprika
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Ground black pepper
- 1 tbsp Red pepper flakes
- ½ tbsp Oregano
Add all the spices for the Chili Seasoning to one bowl and mix well. Pour into mason jar and store in pantry for months. I use all organic seasonings and buy them in bulk from my local grocery store.
